Halloween Update

Good Morning and Happy Halloween,

After a good night of sleep, we are seeing improvements! We are getting lots of hand squeezes and toe wiggles!

Today and tomorrow are peak post operative swelling days. Her right eye is very swollen, but that is normal. We expect the swelling to decrease over the next few days.

The doctors are very encouraged with her progress, but still believe she will be in ICU for at least another week. The doctors discussed the possibility of performing a tracheotomy so that they can remove the ventilator. The doctors assure us this is a positive development.

This morning Kelly played a Halloween video from her girls to Grandma and after hearing it we asked her "Did you hear that message, Mom?" She nodded her head YES! It was her very first head nod! We were thrilled. Of course then we played videos of all the grandkids. We hope she loved them. We have been reading all of your comments to her, and she responds to each one. Keep them coming!

God is GREAT!

Here is our team in Mom's ICU room!
